How a Hunter makes gold in World of Warcraft: Forever: solo farming that other classes cannot do, skinning as the natural second profession, and the leather and hides that endgame consumes.

In short

  • A Hunter with a pet solos beasts that would kill another class at the same level, which puts skinning nodes, hides and scales in reach earlier than anyone else.
  • Skinning is the Hunter profession: every beast you kill is a node, and leather is consumed by leatherworking and by every other profession that touches it.
  • Ammunition is your running cost; buy it from a vendor, never from the house, and count it against the farm.
  • Sell leather in stacks against the median; it moves in volume, not in single listings.

This week on PvP HordeIncense Candle up 809%, Magician's Mantle down 90% against the 7 day median. This week's report has every market; the market page has the full leaderboards.

Solo what others cannot

A Hunter with a pet kills beasts that would kill another class at the same level, and keeps killing them while the other class rests. That reach is the Hunter gold mechanic: the elite beasts, the packs in the corners of a zone and the skinnable creatures nobody else farms alone are all in range, earlier than for anyone else, at no cost beyond ammunition.

Skinning is the profession

Every beast a Hunter kills is a node. Skinning turns a farm into a farm plus a harvest, and leather is consumed by leatherworking, by the armor kits every class buys, and by the bags and quivers made from it. The block on this page prices every tier of leather and hide on your market; the hides are rarer than the leather of the same tier and usually worth more per unit. The two at the end come from beasts only a well-geared Hunter farms alone, which is the whole point.

Ammunition is the cost

Arrows and shot are the Hunter's running cost. Buy them from a vendor, never from the house, and count them against the farm: a beast that yields less than the ammunition it took is not income. Pet food is the other cost, and a Hunter who skins feeds the pet from the kills.

How to list leather

Leather moves in volume, like cloth. Full stacks at the median, not single listings under the cheapest one. Hides move in smaller lots and hold their price; list a few at a time. The level bands say what else your level can sell; a Hunter follows them with skinning on top.

The zone and creature pages under zones say which beasts players have seen drop what, from their own reports, so you can pick a farm by what it yields rather than by rumour.
