World of Warcraft: Forever PvP ruleset
On the PvP ruleset everyone is flagged in contested zones. The other faction can attack you while you gather, quest or travel, and you can attack them, which turns every trip through contested land into a risk.
Because Forever has no realms, the whole PvP population of a faction shares one auction house. The market is smaller than Normal and its prices carry the cost of that risk.
What PvP does to the auction house
- Materials from contested zones cost more than they do on Normal, because gathering them costs time lost to being killed and the sellers price that in.
- Consumables that decide fights sell in spikes: potions, elixirs and bandages move when a faction is contesting a zone, not on a raid schedule.
- Supply is thinner, so the gap between the cheapest listing and the median is wider, and a patient seller can wait for it.

Questions
- Can I turn off PvP on the PvP ruleset?
- Not in contested zones. Being flagged there is what the ruleset is. Your own faction’s cities and starting zones are safe, as they are everywhere.
- Are PvP prices higher than Normal prices?
- For anything gathered in contested land or used to win a fight, usually yes, and the two markets are measured separately here so the difference is visible item by item rather than assumed.
