The WoW Forever auction house

World of Warcraft: Forever has no realms, and that one fact decides how its auction house works. There is no server to choose and no server-specific price. One ruleset and one faction share a single house, holding everyone who plays it, which is why the site tracks six markets in the US instead of hundreds. This page explains the houses, who can trade with whom, what the house keeps, and where the prices on this site come from.

In short

  • Six auction houses in the US, one per ruleset and faction: Normal, PvP and RP, each with a Horde and an Alliance house. 4 are open in the beta.
  • Faction auctioneers are in each capital city and share one house per faction; the neutral auctioneers in Gadgetzan, Booty Bay and Everlook serve both factions.
  • A faction house keeps 5 percent of a sale and the neutral house 15 percent; listing costs a deposit from the vendor price that comes back when the item sells.
  • Every price on this site comes from players scanning the house with the free addon; the latest scan is from Oct 4, 2026.

Where the auction houses are

Alliance auctioneers stand in Stormwind City (the Trade District), Ironforge (the Commons) and Darnassus (the Tradesmen's Terrace); Horde auctioneers in Orgrimmar (the Valley of Strength), Thunder Bluff (the Lower Rise) and Undercity (the Trade Quarter). All three houses of a faction are the same house: a listing made in one appears in the others. The neutral auctioneers are in Gadgetzan, Booty Bay and Everlook.

One house per ruleset and faction

World of Warcraft: Forever has no realms, so an auction house is shared by everyone on one ruleset and one faction in a region. That gives 6 auction houses in the US: Normal, PvP and RP, each with a Horde house and an Alliance house. AHledger calls each one a market.

What each ruleset does to its house is on the Normal, PvP and RP pages; PvP gear, battlegrounds and consumables have a page of their own.

The neutral auction house

Yes. The neutral auctioneers in Gadgetzan, Booty Bay and Everlook take listings from both factions, and they are the only place a Horde player and an Alliance player trade with each other. The neutral house keeps a larger share of each sale than a faction house does, so cross-faction trade carries a cost.

Because both factions on a ruleset are otherwise separate markets, the gap between a Horde price and an Alliance price is the one arbitrage Forever leaves open, and the neutral cut is what it costs to close it. The no-realms guide covers the rest of what the design changes.

Cuts and deposits

The auction house rules are the Classic Era rules the beta carries. A faction house keeps 5 percent of the sale price and the neutral houses keep 15 percent. Listing an item also charges a deposit set from its vendor sell price and how long it is listed, 12, 24 or 48 hours; the deposit comes back when the item sells and is lost when it does not.

Two things follow. A listing that does not sell costs its deposit, so pricing to sell matters more on slow items than a small margin does. And the vendor sell price sets the deposit, so a stack of cheap materials is nearly free to relist while a piece of gear is not. Each item page shows the vendor price beside the auction price for that reason; the price guide walks through the numbers.

Classic Era rules, which the beta carries: the cut comes off the sale price when it sells; the deposit is paid when you list and returned with the sale, or lost if the listing expires or you cancel it. Stackable items pay the deposit per stack.

Listing and buying, briefly

  • Listing. Drag an item onto the auctioneer's sell panel, set a starting bid and, if you want a sale without waiting, a buyout. Pick 12, 24 or 48 hours; the deposit rises with the length. The addon's posting panel shows the median and the lowest listing beside the price field.
  • Bid or buyout. A bid wins when the listing ends if nobody outbids it; a buyout ends the listing at once. Bid gold is held until you are outbid, when it comes back by mail.
  • Finding things. Search by name, with filters for level, quality and item class; sort by unit price when buying stacks, since a bigger stack can hide a worse price.
  • Cancelling. You can pull a listing before it sells, but the deposit is lost, so relisting lower is not free.
  • The gold. By mail, about an hour after the sale. The auction house sends the gold, less its cut, to the seller's mailbox with a one hour delay; the buyer receives the item by mail at once. An expired listing comes back by mail with its deposit lost; a sold one returns the deposit with the gold.

What is open in the beta

4 of the 6 markets are open in the beta: Normal Alliance, Normal Horde, PvP Alliance, PvP Horde. RP Alliance, RP Horde are not open in the beta yet and open when Blizzard adds the ruleset. The latest scan on this site is from Oct 4, 2026.

Every market starts from nothing at launch, and the beta houses reset with the beta. The first week of a fresh economy explains what that does to prices, and the beta page covers access and what each build changed.

Where the prices come from

From players scanning the auction house with the AHledger addon. A scan records every listing on one market at that moment; the site keeps the cheapest listing, the median across all units and 7, 30 and 90 day history per item and market. Nothing comes from a third-party price database.

A market page lists what is most traded with the latest price and the 7 day trend, an item page shows one item across markets, and the deal scanner ranks listings under their 30 day median. The weekly market report sums up what moved. Scanning takes one addon and one click, and every scan improves the numbers for everyone on that market. The addon also puts the prices in your tooltips and on a ledger bar in game, and the players who scan most are on the contributor leaderboard. The latest edition is WoW Forever market report, week ending September 30, 2026.

Common questions

Is there one auction house in World of Warcraft: Forever?
No. World of Warcraft: Forever has no realms, so an auction house is shared by everyone on one ruleset and one faction in a region. That gives 6 auction houses in the US: Normal, PvP and RP, each with a Horde house and an Alliance house. AHledger calls each one a market.
Is there a neutral auction house in WoW Forever?
Yes. The neutral auctioneers in Gadgetzan, Booty Bay and Everlook take listings from both factions, and they are the only place a Horde player and an Alliance player trade with each other. The neutral house keeps a larger share of each sale than a faction house does, so cross-faction trade carries a cost.
What is the auction house cut in WoW Forever?
The auction house rules are the Classic Era rules the beta carries. A faction house keeps 5 percent of the sale price and the neutral houses keep 15 percent. Listing an item also charges a deposit set from its vendor sell price and how long it is listed, 12, 24 or 48 hours; the deposit comes back when the item sells and is lost when it does not.
Which WoW Forever auction houses are open in the beta?
4 of the 6 markets are open in the beta: Normal Alliance, Normal Horde, PvP Alliance, PvP Horde. RP Alliance, RP Horde are not open in the beta yet and open when Blizzard adds the ruleset. The latest scan on this site is from Oct 4, 2026.
Why does WoW Forever say no realms are available?
Forever has no realm list. There is nothing to pick, so the realm screen has no entries. If the game says no realms are available, the beta is closed at that moment or the account does not have beta access yet; Blizzard grants access through the beta profile in Battle.net account settings.
Where do the auction house prices on AHledger come from?
From players scanning the auction house with the AHledger addon. A scan records every listing on one market at that moment; the site keeps the cheapest listing, the median across all units and 7, 30 and 90 day history per item and market. Nothing comes from a third-party price database.

All three houses of a faction are the same house: a listing made in one appears in the others. The neutral auctioneers are in Gadgetzan, Booty Bay and Everlook.
How long does auction house gold take to arrive in WoW Forever?
By mail, about an hour after the sale. The auction house sends the gold, less its cut, to the seller's mailbox with a one hour delay; the buyer receives the item by mail at once. An expired listing comes back by mail with its deposit lost; a sold one returns the deposit with the gold.
Can you see the other faction's auction house prices?
Not in the game. Each faction sees only its own house, and the neutral house shows the listings of both. On this site every item page shows the same item on every market, Horde and Alliance, so the gap between them is visible without an alt on the other side.
