In short

  • Pick Pocket is gold on every humanoid you were going to kill anyway; the junkboxes it yields hold coin, potions and the odd green.
  • Lockpicking is a service every other class needs and nobody else can offer; the boxes below are what people pay to have opened.
  • Stealth turns guarded herb and ore nodes from a fight into a walk, which makes a Rogue a quiet, fast gatherer.
  • Poison reagents are your only running cost, and they are cheap.

This week on PvP AllianceFamiliar Hide up 900%, Infiltrator Boots down 90% against the 7 day median. This week's report has every market; the market page has the full leaderboards.

Pick Pocket everything

Every humanoid you were going to kill anyway has pockets, and Pick Pocket empties them before the fight for coin, potions and a junkbox. The junkboxes are the point: each holds more coin and often a green, and the boxes themselves are listed on the house by Rogues who cannot be bothered to open them. Pick Pocket costs nothing, adds nothing to the fight, and over a level it adds up to a mount payment.

Lockboxes as a service

Lockboxes drop for every class and only a Rogue opens them. A lockbox listed on the house is somebody paying for that service in advance, and a Rogue who buys them under the median opens them for what is inside and relists the empty box's contents. In a city the service is direct: the trade channel asks, you open, they tip. Lockpicking skill levels with the boxes, so the higher tiers stay a Rogue's alone.

Stealth is a gathering tool

A guarded herb or ore node is a fight for everyone else and a walk for a Rogue. Stealth turns the contested nodes in a zone into free ones, which makes a Rogue with herbalism or mining a quiet, fast gatherer of exactly the materials other players skip because of what stands next to them. Take a gathering profession and farm the nodes with company.

What it costs to run a Rogue

Poison reagents are the only running cost, and they are vendor items. Everything else a Rogue does for gold costs nothing to start. List junkboxes and lockboxes against the median, and sell the greens from inside them the way the level bands say.

The block on this page prices every junkbox and lockbox on your market, from the latest scan. A box listed well under its median is a service somebody is paying you to provide.
