Where it comes from

  • Not tradeable. It binds when picked up, so it is earned in play and never listed on the auction house.
  • Vendors sell it for 60s 81c and buy it back for 12s 16c. That is the ceiling for an auction price while vendors stock it.
  • Quest reward from Open the Maw.
  • Sources are what 9 players running the addon saw in game, summed across everyone who contributes; a rate needs at least twenty loot windows.
  • Disenchants into Soul Dust, Lesser Mystic Essence, Small Glowing Shard, worth about 40s 62c on Normal Alliance US today. Odds below.

Disenchants into

Expected value 40s 62c per disenchant at Normal Alliance US medians. More than the 12s 16c a vendor pays for it.

Vanilla disenchant tables by quality and item level; the same estimate the addon shows in tooltips.
