How to make gold at level 30 to 40

• Vendors sell it for 2g 84s 93c and buy it back for 71s 23c. That is the ceiling for an auction price while vendors stock it.
• It binds when equipped: tradeable until someone wears it, so each one sells once.
• Disenchants into Vision Dust, Lesser Nether Essence, Small Radiant Shard, worth about 1g 16s 76c on Normal Alliance US today. Odds below.

• Vision Dust75% of the time · 2 to 534s 96c
• Lesser Nether Essence20% of the time · 1 to 2no price yet
• Small Radiant Shard5% of the time4g 99s 99c

Expected value 1g 16s 76c per disenchant at Normal Alliance US medians, counting only the priced materials. More than the 71s 23c a vendor pays for it.

Vanilla disenchant tables by quality and item level; the same estimate the addon shows in tooltips.
