How to make gold at level 40 to 50

• Vendors sell it for 9g 22s 76c and buy it back for 1g 84s 55c. That is the ceiling for an auction price while vendors stock it.
• Crafted by Leatherworking at skill 210; the recipe comes from a trainer. Reagents below.
• It binds when equipped: tradeable until someone wears it, so each one sells once.
• Disenchants into Small Brilliant Shard, worth about 4g 70c on Normal Alliance US today. Odds below.

• Dragonscale Breastplate · Leatherworking 210 · trainer
  • 40× Thick Leather
  • 30× Worn Dragonscale
  • 4× Cured Thick Hide
  • 4× Heavy Silken Thread

• Small Brilliant Shardalways4g 70c

Expected value 4g 70c per disenchant at Normal Alliance US medians. More than the 1g 84s 55c a vendor pays for it.

Vanilla disenchant tables by quality and item level; the same estimate the addon shows in tooltips.
