▸How this is worked out
Depth is units listed now. Spread is the gap between the 25th and 75th percentile of the book at the most recent scan, as a share of that scan's median. Turnover is how much of the shelf changes per day. A shock is the newest day's quantity sitting two standard deviations from the 30 days before it.

Common questions
- What do depth, spread and turnover mean?
- Depth is the units listed now. Spread is the gap between the 25th and 75th percentile of the listings at the latest scan, as a share of the median: a wide spread means the price you get depends on timing. Turnover is how much of the shelf changes a day, so a high turnover means the item sells.
- What is a supply shock on the auction house?
- The newest day of scans shows an item listed in a quantity two standard deviations away from its previous 30 days. Flooded means far more than usual is listed, and the price tends to sag; drained means the shelf emptied, and the price tends to climb.
