In short

  • The Filigreed Shadow Gown, Leggings and Circlet are rare cloth pieces new to Forever, made by Tailoring at skill 40, 65 and 90, with Intellect and Spirit on the first two and 12 Stamina on the circlet.
  • All three bind when picked up, so the armor never trades; the pattern items do, and they are the only part of the set with a market price.
  • Each piece takes two Cerulean Dye plus Shadowgem, Fine Thread and eight bolts of woolen or silk cloth; the dye is most of the cost on every market.
  • In late October 2026 the gown and leggings patterns traded between one and three and a half gold, while the circlet pattern had fallen to a fraction of its 30 day medians as more copies reached the shelves.

What the Filigreed Shadow set is

The Filigreed Shadow set is three pieces of cloth armor that World of Warcraft: Forever added to Tailoring: a gown, a pair of leggings and a circlet. None of them existed in Classic Era. All three are rare quality, all three are cloth, and all three bind when picked up, which is the single fact that shapes everything else on this page. A tailor makes them and keeps them. They never reach the auction house, so what trades is not the armor but the patterns that teach it and the reagents that go into it.

The pieces climb in level and in skill. The gown is a chest piece at item level 20, wearable from level 15, with 37 armor, 5 Intellect, 4 Stamina and 3 Spirit. The leggings sit at item level 25 for level 20 characters, with 37 armor, 6 Intellect, 5 Stamina and 4 Spirit. The circlet is the head piece at item level 30 for level 25, with 38 armor and 12 Stamina. Each piece also carries a fourth stat that the client lists only by a number rather than a name, so this page leaves it unnamed rather than guess. Read together, the Intellect and Spirit on the gown and leggings mark this as a caster line, and the circlet leans into Stamina.

The Shadow set is one of several Filigreed lines that Forever tailors can work through in the same skill range. The Pristine Circlet ends the Pristine line at skill 85 and is built for healers; the Shadow circlet ends this line at skill 90. The two lines share their most expensive reagent, which is why they are worth reading side by side.

Where the Filigreed Shadow set comes from

Each piece has one source: a Tailoring recipe. The client data lists all three as trainer recipes, and a pattern item also exists for each one, so the pattern is how most tailors will meet the set. Those patterns are rare, new to Forever, and not bound, which means they can be bought, sold and mailed. The pattern item for the gown lists a required Tailoring of 75, the leggings pattern 100, and the circlet pattern 125, higher in each case than the skill the recipe itself needs once it is learned. Vendors pay 1 silver, 1 silver 75 copper and 2 silver 50 copper for them respectively, which is the floor under every listing.

Where the patterns drop is the open question. The list below is what players running the AHledger addon have recorded so far, and it fills in as scans arrive. At the time of writing the circlet pattern has been recorded once in Razorfen Kraul and once in Blackfathom Deeps, and nothing has been recorded yet for the gown or leggings patterns. Two single records are not a drop rate; they are a hint that the circlet pattern comes from the low level dungeons rather than the open world.

No scan has recorded where Pattern: Filigreed Shadow Circlet comes from yet. Players who run the addon with loot tracking on fill this in; the list appears here and on the item page as soon as it exists.

No scan has recorded where Pattern: Filigreed Shadow Leggings comes from yet. Players who run the addon with loot tracking on fill this in; the list appears here and on the item page as soon as it exists.

If a pattern drops for you in a dungeon run and you are not a tailor, do not vendor it. The circlet pattern has traded at several gold on every market this month, and the other two sit between one and three and a half gold.

What the Filigreed Shadow recipes take

The three recipes follow one template: Shadowgem for the stat budget, Fine Thread, a bolt of cloth that steps up from wool to silk, and two Cerulean Dye per piece. The live recipe blocks below read the catalog directly; the shape of the cost is this.

  • Filigreed Shadow Gown, Tailoring 40. Two Shadowgem, four Fine Thread, eight Bolt of Woolen Cloth and two Cerulean Dye. The recipe goes grey at 80, so it gives forty points of skill on the way up.
  • Filigreed Shadow Leggings, Tailoring 65. Four Shadowgem, four Fine Thread, eight Bolt of Silk Cloth and two Cerulean Dye. Grey at 105.
  • Filigreed Shadow Circlet, Tailoring 90. Six Shadowgem, four Fine Thread, eight Bolt of Silk Cloth and two Cerulean Dye. Grey at 130.

Twelve Shadowgem across the three pieces is the second cost worth planning for; six of them go into the circlet alone. The dye is the first. Six Cerulean Dye for the full set sounds small until you read the Cerulean Dye guide: the dye is an alchemy product made from Frilled Lichen, a herb few herbalists pick, and through October it traded between one and a half and six gold a unit. On most markets the two dye per piece cost more than the cloth, the thread and the gems put together. Nothing consumes the finished pieces, and nothing else makes them, so the chain stops at the tailor.

What the Filigreed Shadow patterns are worth

Because the armor binds, the price tables below are for the pattern items, which are the only part of the set that trades. Each table shows the current median listing on every market with a scan that includes the pattern, with the 7 and 30 day medians beside it so you can see the direction.

In the beta economy of late October 2026 the gown pattern sat at about two gold on the Alliance markets and one gold twenty on the Horde ones, with only two or three listed at a time and 30 day medians between one gold seventy and two gold thirty. The leggings pattern was the most expensive of the three at three gold forty on Alliance Normal and three gold on Horde Normal, and at the time of writing neither PvP market had one listed at all.

The circlet pattern is the one with a story. Its 30 day medians are the highest in the set: nearly four gold on Alliance Normal, ten on Horde Normal, five on Alliance PvP and almost twelve on Horde PvP. Its current medians are a fraction of that: one gold on Alliance Normal, two on Horde Normal, 33 silver on Alliance PvP and under two gold on Horde PvP, with five to thirteen listed on each market. A pattern that was scarce in September has been dropping steadily in the dungeons the beta population now runs, and the shelf is deep enough that each new drop undercuts the last. That is what a collapsing minimum buyout looks like from the outside.

Make it, sell the pattern, or sell into it

If you are a tailor leveling through 40 to 90. The set is a reasonable path, but price the dye first. Two Cerulean Dye per piece means the gown costs more than most skill 40 recipes and the circlet more than most at 90, and the result cannot be sold to recover the cost. Make the piece you will wear and skip the ones you will not, unless the dye median has dipped below its 30 day figure, in which case buy all six dye in one trip. The crafting desk adds up the reagent cost of each recipe on your market.

If you found a pattern. Sell it, and sell it on the market where it is scarce. The leggings pattern with nothing listed on the PvP markets is the clearest case: a single listing there sets the price. The circlet pattern is the opposite; with a dozen listed and the median a fraction of its 30 day level, hold it for launch rather than join the undercut.

If you trade reagents. This set is a demand source for Cerulean Dye and Shadowgem, not for finished goods. Every tailor who learns the circlet buys six gems and two dye, and the dye is the one with thin supply. The money is upstream of the recipe. A watchlist entry on the dye and on the circlet pattern will tell you when either moves without you checking.

What changes on 5 November

Everything above describes the beta economy, which has been running on the US markets since September with a few thousand players. Launch on 5 November resets it, and the Filigreed Shadow set benefits from the reset in two ways. First, the patterns start at zero supply again. The circlet pattern that now has a dozen copies on each market will be rare for the first week or two, and the first drops will sell to the first tailors to reach skill 90 at whatever those tailors will pay. Second, the dye starts scarce too, because the herbalists who pick Frilled Lichen are a small share of a new population.

The sequence to expect: tailors reach 40 and want the gown around the end of launch week, 65 and the leggings a few days later, 90 and the circlet in the second or third week. Pattern prices will peak just before each of those points and fall as more copies reach the shelves. If you are buying a pattern to use, the cheapest moment is after the first wave of tailors has passed the skill; if you are selling one, it is the day before. The first week guide covers the same curve for the rest of the catalog, and the EU markets will run it from the same hour.

Common questions

How do you get the Filigreed Shadow Circlet in WoW Forever?
By crafting it. It is a Tailoring recipe at skill 90, and the circlet binds when picked up, so it cannot be bought from another player. Most tailors will learn it from the pattern item, which trades on the auction house and has been recorded dropping once each in Razorfen Kraul and Blackfathom Deeps.
What does the Filigreed Shadow Gown need?
Two Shadowgem, four Fine Thread, eight Bolt of Woolen Cloth and two Cerulean Dye, at Tailoring 40. The recipe goes grey at 80. The dye is an alchemy product made from Frilled Lichen and is the expensive part.
What are the stats on the Filigreed Shadow set?
The gown is item level 20 for level 15 with 37 armor, 5 Intellect, 4 Stamina and 3 Spirit. The leggings are item level 25 for level 20 with 37 armor, 6 Intellect, 5 Stamina and 4 Spirit. The circlet is item level 30 for level 25 with 38 armor and 12 Stamina. Each piece carries a fourth stat the client lists only by number.
Can you sell the Filigreed Shadow pieces?
No. All three bind when picked up. What sells is the pattern for each piece and the reagents that go into it, and the demand the set creates shows up in the prices of Cerulean Dye and Shadowgem.
How much is the Pattern: Filigreed Shadow Circlet worth?
In late October 2026 it listed between 33 silver and two gold depending on the market, down from 30 day medians of four to twelve gold, with five to thirteen copies listed at a time. The tables on this page show the current median for each pattern from the latest scan.
What skill do the Filigreed Shadow patterns need?
The client lists Tailoring 75 for the gown pattern, 100 for the leggings pattern and 125 for the circlet pattern, higher than the 40, 65 and 90 the recipes themselves take once learned. Vendors pay 1 silver, 1 silver 75 copper and 2 silver 50 copper for the three patterns.
